Our wooden shoes are made from indigenous timber. We use alder, beech and poplar. The nature of the design determines which wood is used. Alder wood is relatively tough and robust and has a beautiful grain. We use it for most of our wooden soles. Poplar wood is extremely light, but also sensitive. As a result, we only use it for our high platform soles. Beech is very hard and robust and thus also suitable for unusual designs like the »Hopper« sole. Altogether there are more than 50 different soles. Our wooden soles have not been varnished. This means they absorb moisture and are therefore comfortable to wear.
